Artist Profile

Vocal Sawako Tomioka: singer, photographer.
She had sung for the band named BAR 9 RANCH, and then proceeded to perform as a solo singer. In the meantime, she advanced to the finals at a vocal contest Yamaha Audition-Music Quest in Osaka, and also went to finals at Ozeki-monomono-Karaoke. Once she beat her competitors ten weeks in a row in Taro's Karaoke Survival, which was then broadcasted on SUN-TV. With these achievements, she has performed mostly in clubs in Osaka. She has a very wide range of musical foundations including folk songs, enka (Japanese ballad), pops, and gospel. Her talent for commanding diverse vocal styles from soulful, strong shouting to mellow Japanese emotion accentuates her high potential and individuality.

Lyrics Haku Seidou: Lyricist.
From Rock to Pops to enka, his sharp sensibility to portray human characters, especially his individual perspective to depict women’s emotion stays strongly original so that his style of writing has been widely acclaimed. His work includes Works of Seidou Haku, Himo, Hana-unmei, Akantare, yume-mae-gawa, and a number of other works. He has been a producer for TV and radio programs, and events for many years. Since 2000, he's been awarded prizes including the Minister of Justice award for his contribution to the supportive activity for correction of criminals. He is a member of the Japanese Lyricists Association.

Composition GEN: Composer.
Rock, pops, children's song, and a number of other works.

Arrangement/performance Manabu Kondo: composer, arranger.
Born in 1978, he started to play Electone in his childhood. Then he performed percussion instruments, guitar, bass guitar, trumpet, and other instruments through his years of brass band and rock band. These experiences gave him a distinguished sense for musical ensemble. His extraordinary spirit of inquiry and huge appetite for learning has been expanding the area of his composing specialty. He creates an extensive genre of music from various folk music including Irish traditional music to rock, classical music, and electronic with his characteristic style that makes full use of latest music production technology. His work includes music for picture, CM, and Japanese Yosakoi dance.

The old and new works written by Haku Seidou/GEN were realized here as a surging, literally "deep" album by Manabu Kondo's up-to-date arrangement and Sawako Tomioka's powerful singing performance. The sound is harsh and wild and naive. Sawako’s style of singing is delicate, but at the same time filled with energy to make all the songs genereless. The unprecedented power of this album is filled with primitive colors. But strangely enough, the total image of this album is penetrated by a transparent feeling called white in.
