Thank you for visiting "Nash & Artists" website.
On this website we introduce and sell radical musical works produced by Nash Studio. Our basic concept is based on sticking to the artist's self-expression that is a primary principle of art, and holding on to a very twenty-first century vision of direct contact between the creators and their audiences. When an artist only pursues to express his own individuality and creativity without having any other notion, how far can he possibly go? And in what way does he share his self-expression with his audience directly? "Nash & Artist" is one of our answers to the issue of how art and artists become independent in the midst of society. In the world that's in the middle of an enormous change propelled by digital technology and growth of Internet that seems to drive out all the backward things in society, Nash and its artists are trying to exist in the most primitive form.

NS-1320 Harukanainori
2011.07.15
Our new album Harukanainori is completed.
The starting point for this album was a song called “Shining Star” which happened to be recorded out of context while we were working on the production of the previously released album Hanaemaki. This song opened up a discourse between me and Seido Haku, a lyrics writer which led to become the deepest kind of interaction in all our 30 year relationship. Before long it involved Sawako Tomioka, and was sublimated to this new album. Even though we worked on the album intermittently the whole production flew by so quickly with a certain inevitable feel to it.
Haku's sentiment to his late mother, different pains and troubles we both had to undergo, resignation and defiance and strength and caring and humanity that each of us had a moment of, yet there would be still on-going battles…why all of those things, and those images were rapidly heading off toward the ocean behind our backs?
Then that unprecedented earthquake hit us on 11th March, just when we were about to finish the last mix-down on the album. It was also the ocean that killed a countless number of people with its ruthless, destructive force. Thus the album ended up bearing a self-question in itself, even long after its completion.
Take it as it is, yet there will be endless cries, tears, and distant prayers. I firmly believe the souls of those people who lost their lives on the earthquake have rested in peace.
